Meeting of the Authority’s Council followed by a press briefing to announce the electoral calendar for the partial legislative elections in the Kabaria constituency

Following the publication of Presidential Decree No. 42 of the year 2026, dated March 27, 2026, concerning the calling of voters registered in the Kabaria – Tunis electoral district for the partial legislative elections scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2026, Mr. Farouk Bouasker, President of the Authority, chaired on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the headquarters of the Regional Directorate of Elections in Tunis (La Kasbah), a meeting of the Authority’s Council, in the presence of Council members, as well as representatives of the executive administration and the Council’s cabinet.

During this meeting, the Authority’s Council approved the electoral calendar as well as the operational plan relating to the partial legislative elections in the Kabaria district – Governorate of Tunis.

At the end of this meeting, a press briefing was held during which the President of the Authority announced the electoral calendar and the operational plan for the partial legislative elections in the Kabaria district – Governorate of Tunis. In this context, he indicated that the Authority’s Council had unanimously decided, during its meeting held today, to dispense with the use of electoral ink in all upcoming elections, in light of the experience and confidence acquired by the Authority in managing voting operations, and in line with practices adopted by well-established democracies with extensive electoral experience.

The President of the Authority also stressed that it will rely, at all organizational and logistical stages of these elections, on its own resources, reflecting the Council’s commitment to ensuring the governance of electoral expenditures.
