Mr. Farouk Bouasker, President of the Independent High Authority for Elections, received this Tuesday morning, 12 May 2026, in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Noufel Frikha, Vice-President of the Authority, the team responsible for the Authority’s participation in the 40th edition of the Tunis International Book Fair, held at the Kram Exhibition Center from 23 April to 3 May 2026.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Authority expressed his thanks and appreciation to all team members for the competence they demonstrated and for the collaborative spirit that characterized their work and involved the various departments and services of the Authority. This contributed to the success of the Authority’s first-ever participation in the Tunis International Book Fair, making it one of the highlights of the 40th edition of the event.
The President of the Authority also expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the Fair Administration. He stressed that this first participation reflects the determination of the Authority’s Council to strengthen its presence within Tunisian society and to further promote electoral culture among the different segments of the Tunisian people. He also praised the Tunis International Book Fair as a successful model and a distinguished platform for presenting the Authority to the general public as well as to visitors and participants from Tunisia and around the world.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the Authority called for the inclusion of this important cultural event among the Authority’s permanent annual programs and for early preparation for the next edition by building not only on the successes achieved, but also on the recommendations and proposals that could further enhance this participation. He also called for proper preparations for the opening of the Center for Electoral Documentation and Studies in the coming weeks. The Center will serve as a space accessible to researchers and individuals interested in electoral affairs in general, where they will find data, documents, and electoral studies related to Tunisian elections.
