Mr. Farouk Bouasker, President of the Independent High Authority for Elections, chaired on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Authority’s headquarters, a working session dedicated to reviewing the Authority’s communication strategy, in the presence of members of the Authority’s Council, representatives of its cabinet, and various departments and services under the executive administration.
The President opened the session by emphasizing the importance the Council places on establishing a communication strategy outside electoral periods, tailored to the various activities the Authority intends to undertake, in order to provide the necessary conditions for their success, ensure broad participation and engagement, and achieve the desired objectives.
Subsequently, the various measures and arrangements undertaken by the relevant departments were presented as part of the preparations for major upcoming events, particularly the inauguration of a documentation and electoral studies center specific to the Authority, as well as participation in the upcoming edition of the Tunis International Book Fair.
The President and Council members stressed the importance of thorough preparation for these two first-of-their-kind events since the establishment of the Authority. They also endorsed all the recommendations and proposals discussed during the session to define an effective and purposeful communication strategy, making optimal use of modern technological tools and media within a unified approach that highlights the specific nature of the Authority’s work and the efforts made to enrich and diversify its awareness-raising and educational activities in the electoral field, as well as its commitment to preserving electoral memory to build a better future and strengthen trust with citizens.
It was also agreed to prepare a detailed working document encompassing all these elements and proposals, to be submitted for approval at the next meeting before proceeding with the final preparatory stages of these two events.
Furthermore, the session addressed the exploratory visit to Tunisia by a delegation from the General Directorate of Elections of Senegal, following the selection of the Independent High Authority for Elections as a model that Senegal seeks to emulate in establishing a similar independent electoral body inspired by the Tunisian experience. The President emphasized the utmost importance of this visit and called on all relevant departments and services to prepare optimally, ensuring all necessary conditions for its success and the achievement of its objectives.
