As part of monitoring the work progress of the various departments and services affiliated with the Independent High Authority for Elections, Mr. Farouk Bouasker, President of the Authority, chaired a working session on Monday, May 11, 2026, with the executive administration of the Authority and its various affiliated departments and services, in the presence of the members of the Authority’s Council and the Office of the President.
The session was devoted to reviewing the major orientations of the Authority’s draft budget for 2027, the provisional financial statements, and the financial report for the year 2025. Discussions also focused on the axes and programs included in the draft budget, in addition to the preliminary financial estimates related to each proposed axis and the various planned projects. The meeting further examined the progress made in preparing the provisional financial statements and the Authority’s financial report for the year 2025.
On this occasion, the President of the Authority stressed the importance of ensuring that the programs included in the 2027 draft budget are consistent with the general orientations of the State budget, as well as with the established principles and policy choices, particularly those related to relying primarily on the institution’s own resources, rationalizing expenditures, preserving public funds and assets, and giving priority to projects with added value.
In this context, he called on the departments concerned with preparing the budget to take into account all the remarks and recommendations issued during this session, while emphasizing the Authority Council’s commitment to defining projects and allocating the required appropriations according to the essential needs dictated by the specific nature of the Authority’s work and periodic electoral operations, especially as the Authority is preparing to organize legislative elections in 2027 as well as municipal elections. This is intended to ensure that the draft budget can be submitted for approval by the Authority Council and transmitted to the relevant parties within the prescribed deadlines.
