Working Session on the Management of the Authority’s Inventory

As part of the follow-up on the functioning of the various departments of the Independent High Authority for Elections, Mr. Farouk Bouasker, President of the Authority, chaired a working session on the morning of Thursday, 14 May 2026, with a number of heads of departments and services responsible for overseeing the management and storage of the Authority’s stock of electoral materials and other equipment, in the presence of the members of the Authority’s Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, statistical data relating to the Authority’s current stock were reviewed, particularly concerning materials that are no longer usable due to the exhaustion of their use or the expiry of their validity, such as electoral ink and other electoral and office supplies. Following this presentation, members of the Authority’s Council and the heads of the relevant departments and services exchanged views on the appropriate means for managing, preserving, transferring, or destroying this stock when necessary, in accordance with the applicable regulations.

On this occasion, the President of the Authority stressed the importance that the Council attaches to good governance in the management of the Authority’s stock. He called on the concerned parties to give this matter greater attention by preparing a detailed and accurate inventory of materials and equipment that are no longer in use and are occupying space in the Authority’s central warehouse, which could instead be used for storing materials currently in use. He also called for the preparation of a consultation with the relevant authorities regarding the procedures for disposal or destruction in accordance with the legislation in force.
